The workshop “Game Theory in Accounting and Finance”

In conjunction with the series of events of the International Conference on Financial Management and Economics 2023 (ICFME 2023) organized by the Faculty of Accounting and Faculty of Banking & Finance, which took place from July 4, 2023, to July 5, 2023, the workshop “Game Theory in accounting and finance” organized of the Faculty of Accounting was successful with the interest of 130 faculty and students of accountancy and business attended.

The keynote speaker is Associate Professor Barna Bakó, Head of the Institute of Economics at Corvinus University, Budapest, Hungary, a researcher in the field of behavioral economics, game theory, and industrial organization.

The workshop “Game Theory in Accounting and Finance” has brought many rewarding knowledge in modern economics, how to apply in the game theory of strategy, the optimum decision making of independent and competitive actors in a strategic context. Asso. Prof. Bakó illustrated 2 interesting games so students can imagine making rational decisions made by the participants in a game or scenario in which the parameters have been pre-defined, thereby studying tactical situations in which players choose different behaviors to try to maximize results while considering the potential strategies of other players. In addition, students can be further strengthened in critical thinking to give the correct, most accurate views on any particular issue.
