High-quality students of the Faculty of Accounting participate in the 2018 summer experiential learning program in Singapore
It is the result of a cooperation agreement signed between the Faculty of Accounting - Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) and the School of Business - Singapore Polytechnic (SP) through the connection from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW). The Singapore Summer Experiential Learning Program (ELP) was first implemented by the parties from June 20, 2018, to July 3, 2018.
From more than 100 applications of high-quality students, the Faculty of Accounting has selected the 03 most deserving faces to award ELP scholarships: Hoang Tran Phuong Chau, Nguyen Thi Ngoc, and Ho Minh Thanh. Before coming to Singapore, ICAEW Vietnam also supported TDTU students with a 21-hour course to equip them with basic knowledge of Accounting CFAB and guide them on communication and behavior skills to prepare them for their journey to study abroad. outside. Attending the program at Singapore Polytechnic this time were also representatives of students from National Economics University, Banking Academy, University of Commerce, Foreign Trade University, and University of Economics - Hanoi National University. Noi and 03 leading universities of Indonesia.
At the first moment of arriving in Singapore, the Vietnamese student delegation received a warm welcome from Mr. Daryl Aw (supervising instructor SP side) and students of the SP School of Business. The most important content that took place throughout the ELP program was 52 hours of Accounting CFAB under the dedicated guidance of Mr. Phillip Tan and Ms. Yeo Li Juen, lecturers of SP School of Business. TDTU students can study with modern facilities in a 100% English environment according to Singapore standards. In addition to specialized classes, they also participate in soft skills classes such as teamwork, and professional working style in the accounting-finance environment in the island nation. Interspersed with classes, students also had a chance to visit PwC Singapore and RSM Singapore, two accounting and financial firms in the top 5, and directly compete in Business Challenge - a recruitment competition. Although two weeks is not much, the 2018 ELP program ended with certain successes. In the words of Nguyen Thi Ngoc: “Participating in the study and experience program in Singapore with two classmates is really a blessing and an honor for me. This trip has broadened not only my specialized knowledge but also my vision for the future when I realized many new development directions after leaving the university lecture hall.
