On December 9, 2025, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held the opening ceremony of the 487th AUN-QA External Assessment for four academic programs. This assessment focuses on four undergraduate programs: Accounting, Biotechnology, English Language, and Applied Mathematics.

The opening ceremony was attended by the AUN-QA Assessment Panel, comprising professors and reputable experts in higher education from ASEAN countries, including Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia. Representing TDTU were Dr. Dong Si Thien Chau – Vice President of the University, along with leaders of departments and offices, faculties, academic units, lecturers, and students from the assessed programs.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Dong Si Thien Chau stated: “To date, TDTU has had 20 programs assessed and accredited under AUN-QA standards, 15 programs accredited by FIBAA, and 9 programs accredited by ASIIN. These achievements affirm the University’s strong commitment to meeting international quality standards.”

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Yahaya Md. Sam, Head of the Assessment Panel, emphasized: “I am very pleased to review the improvement reports, which address the areas for enhancement identified in the previous assessment for all four programs. These reports clearly demonstrate the programs’ sustained commitment and efforts toward excellence in all aspects: teaching and learning, research, and service.”

The 487th AUN-QA external assessment at TDTU takes place from December 9 to 11, 2025. During this period, the assessment panel will conduct in-depth interviews with program management teams, administrative staff, lecturers, students, alumni, and employers; observe teaching activities and facilities; and carry out a comprehensive evaluation based on the AUN-QA Standards and Criteria, Version 4.0.

The event was conducted in a formal and professional atmosphere, with close coordination among units across the University. All activities were carefully prepared to ensure optimal conditions for the Assessment Panel’s work.

TDTU expects that the outcomes of this assessment will serve as an important driving force for the University to further standardize its training, research, and community service activities, thereby moving closer to its goal of becoming a reputable research university in the region. The 487th AUN-QA external assessment of four academic programs once again reaffirms TDTU’s commitment to maintaining and continuously enhancing the quality of education.

At the same time, the event opens opportunities for TDTU to strengthen connections with prestigious educational organizations in the region and worldwide, fostering an environment in which international partners can accompany the University on its journey toward elevating training quality.
