The steadily increasing number of faculty members meeting the standards for Professor and Associate Professor titles at TDTU demonstrates the effectiveness of the University’s efforts in building and developing high-quality human resources. This strong academic capacity will further promote TDTU’s education, scientific research, and technological transfer activities in the coming years.

On this occasion, the University also congratulated PGS.TS. Trần Trọng Đạo, a scholar with many outstanding contributions to research and training. In 2025, the State Professor Appointment Council officially recognized him as meeting the requirements for Associate Professor in Automation, marking his persistent academic efforts over the years. Previously, in 2024, he successfully defended his Habilitation thesis in the Czech Republic and was awarded the title of Associate Professor in Control Engineering by the Technical University of Ostrava, effective from January 1, 2025. This achievement is not only a source of pride but also an acknowledgment of his academic excellence by the international scholarly community. Being appointed Associate Professor in both Vietnam and Europe in the same year is a remarkable milestone that affirms his academic reputation and contributes to elevating TDTU’s standing on the global education and research map.

“The recognition today is both an honor and a great responsibility. I hope that our professors and associate professors will remain passionate about research, continue to embark on new intellectual pursuits, push beyond their own boundaries, and contribute even more to the scientific community. In a time when higher education and science–technology are evolving rapidly, the roles of Professors and Associate Professors become increasingly vital. The University expects you to continue producing impactful scientific work, leading strong research groups, inspiring students and colleagues, and achieving new accomplishments that surpass your own limits while contributing positively to the nation and society.

I firmly believe that with your intellect, dedication, and integrity, you will continue to embody the spirit of service and help build Tôn Đức Thắng University into a reputable center of research and education with deep regional and global integration,” said PGS.TS. Trần Trọng Đạo, President of TDTU, in his remarks at the ceremony.

On behalf of the honorees, PGS.TS. Trần Thanh Phương, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, expressed his aspirations and reaffirmed his commitment to contributing further to TDTU’s mission in education and research. “I am fully aware that the role of an Associate Professor is not only to impart knowledge but also to lead research, foster a standard, healthy, and progressive academic environment. Therefore, we pledge to continue enhancing teaching quality, expanding scientific research activities, supporting and mentoring young colleagues, and contributing actively to the development of the University and the wider academic community,” he shared.

This event serves as an opportunity to acknowledge and honor the contributions of educators and researchers to TDTU’s development in training and scientific research. It also creates motivation to further enhance faculty quality, meet new development demands, and align with the goals set out in the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.
