MASTER OF ACCOUNTING

1. Program Description

• Overview of the program: The Master of Accounting program provides students with in-depth knowledge ofaccounting theory, financial accounting, managerial accounting, accounting information systems, internal controls, financial analysis, financial reporting, external auditing, and international accounting. These courses offer the skills and tools for accountants to provide information and assist decision makers. Additionally, there are independent study requirement that involve the students with applying their knowledge to specific areas of accounting. The program prepares students for a range of accounting careers in profit, non-profit, and government organizations. The program will provide you with not only an education but experience that will allow you to succeed in a global business environment.

2. Intended Program Outcomes

Students in the master of accountancy program can expect to graduate with the following set of skills, knowledge and abilities:

1. Graduates will have an understanding of the principles and practices of financial accounting, management accounting, cost accounting, accounting information systems in the conglomerate.

1. Graduates will have knowledge of essential accounting principles and doctrines, including, but not limited to, the following, and be able to critically apply these principles to practical situations and to adapt to changing work environments: IFRS; auditing; internal controls; materiality; ethics, both practical implementation and professional responsibility.

1. Graduates will be equipped to be effective accounting decision makers in an increasingly international business environment.

1. Graduates will have an understanding of the business, legal, professional, and ethical context as a professional accountant, including the ability to identify and appropriately act when ethical dilemmas are encountered in the activities of a professional accountant.

1. Graduates will possess experience and skill in accomplishing objectives through cooperation.
