In an era where corporate governance increasingly emphasizes transparency, risk management, and internal control, internal auditing has emerged as a high-demand field vital to organizational sustainability. This shift underlines the imperative for educational institutions to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills aligned with international professional standards early in their academic journey.

To realize this objective, on July 17, 2026, the Faculty of Accounting at Ton Duc Thang University officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Institute of Internal Auditors Vietnam (IIA Vietnam).

The ceremony welcomed key representatives from IIA Vietnam, including Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thanh, General Director; Mr. Nguyen Van Dau, Head of the Professional Board; and Mr. Khuc Duc Tu, Communication and IT Specialist. Representing the Faculty of Accounting were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi My Hanh, Dean; Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, Assistant to the Dean; alongside faculty members and administrative staff.

Fostering Education Aligned with Professional Standards

The partnership reflects the Faculty of Accounting’s strategic orientation toward curriculum internationalization, with a strong focus on integrating emerging disciplines such as risk management, IT auditing, internal control, ESG, and AI applications.

As a leading body advancing the internal audit profession in Vietnam, IIA Vietnam serves as a crucial bridge to the global professional network. Both organizations emphasized that close collaboration between academia and professional bodies enables students to gain early exposure to industry standards, career trends, and long-term development opportunities.

Expanding Professional Career Opportunities for Students

Under the terms of the agreement, the Faculty of Accounting and IIA Vietnam will jointly organize academic seminars, workshops, and expert-led lectures to provide students with practical insights into internal auditing. Additionally, both parties will explore frameworks to progressively integrate professional standards and international certifications into the academic curriculum.

Following the signing ceremony, representatives exchanged commemorative gifts and plaques, marking a significant milestone in the collaborative partnership between the Faculty of Accounting and IIA Vietnam.
