Seminar “How to publish paper in ISI/ Scopus – Accounting field” And Short session “Sharing the QS University Rankings & research”
Morning of November 28, 2017, at Meeting Room C, the Faculty of Accounting held a seminar titled “How to Publish a Paper in ISI/Scopus – Accounting Field.” The seminar featured Dr. Irene and the lecturers of the Faculty of Accounting, who together discussed methods and experiences in publishing research papers in ISI/Scopus journals.
At the beginning of the seminar, Dr. Irene shared her personal journey from preparing her manuscript to getting it published. She openly spoke about her failures, rejections, and multiple revisions during the process. Her cheerful and approachable manner created a friendly and engaging atmosphere for the discussion.
Dr. Irene then went into detail about how to write a research paper, introduced several Scopus-indexed journal websites, and explained how to prepare research topics, handle reviewer feedback, and revise manuscripts. She also emphasized common mistakes—such as issues with format, scope, or language—and advised the lecturers to “make sure everything is ready before submission if you don’t want to face rejection.” Additionally, Dr. Irene presented examples from her own published works, highlighting specific errors she had encountered so that the faculty could learn from them for future research.
Following her presentation, the lecturers actively asked questions about their own challenges and concerns. Dr. Irene enthusiastically addressed each question, offering practical solutions and guidance for dealing with various research difficulties.
The seminar took place in an open, enthusiastic, and highly interactive atmosphere between Dr. Irene and the Faculty of Accounting members. It provided a valuable opportunity for lecturers to learn from an international scholar, broaden their academic perspectives, and improve their research skills for future projects.
In conclusion, Dr. Irene encouraged the lecturers to stay resilient when conducting research: the journey to having a paper accepted and published is never easy. There will be obstacles, rejections, and moments of discouragement, but perseverance will ultimately lead to valuable experiences and the rewarding sense of achievement at the end of the road.
