Plan for Organizing Student Scientific Research Activities
1. Objectives
-
To promote the scientific research (SR) movement among students of the University and the Faculty of Accounting, creating opportunities for students to develop creativity and apply their knowledge to real-life situations;
-
To help students quickly access new knowledge related to their fields of study;
-
To encourage dynamism, creativity, and independent research abilities among students;
-
To create an academic environment that fosters learning and research, providing an intellectual playground for students, and to identify and nurture potential talents in scientific research for further training and development.
2. Requirements
-
Research projects submitted must demonstrate originality, creativity, scientific soundness, and practical significance;
-
Absolutely no plagiarism or copying from previously published works, articles, or research of other authors.
3. Eligibility
-
All current TDTU students are eligible to participate (final-year students may only register as a group if there is at least one junior member in the group);
-
Research topics are selected by the faculties or research groups and proposed to the University for approval.
4. Participation Format
-
Individual students or groups (maximum of three members, with one student acting as the project leader) may select a research direction and register with their Faculty or a research group;
-
The Faculty-level Scientific Council will review the proposals and recommend them to the University for approval.
5. Research Content
Students may choose any research direction related to fields such as financial accounting, management accounting, auditing, finance, management, and other relevant areas.
6. Research Funding
When registering a project, students or groups must propose an estimated budget. The Faculty-level Scientific Council will review and submit it to the University for approval (through the Department of Scientific and Technological Research Management).
7. Implementation Schedule
-
Project registration deadline: October 30, 2021
-
Faculty-level review period: November 2–5, 2021
-
University-level review period: November 15–30, 2021
-
Research implementation period: December 1, 2021 – May 31, 2022
-
Faculty-level final evaluation: June 2–5, 2022
-
University-level final evaluation: June 16 – July 15, 2022
8. Responsibilities of Students
-
Students must fulfill the assigned research tasks;
-
Be honest in conducting research and strictly comply with the University’s scientific and technological regulations;
-
For approved projects with allocated funding, students (or groups) must not change the project title or the registered team members;
-
Any student or group failing to complete the research without valid reasons will be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with University regulations.
9. Student Benefits
-
In terms of student records: For approved research projects at Faculty level or higher, students will receive official recognition for participation in scientific research according to current Student Affairs regulations (details available in the student portal under “Regulations”).
-
In terms of awards: Projects that win prizes at University level or higher will be rewarded according to current policies, including priority consideration for graduation theses, capstone projects, and bonus points for outstanding research achievements (details available on the student portal).
-
Academic development: Students gain exposure to research topics relevant to their major and learn to apply research results to practice. Promising projects will receive support from supervising lecturers and the Faculty to further develop into higher-level research (e.g., academic papers, competitions, or conferences).
-
Skill development: Participation in research equips students with essential skills in conducting and presenting scientific research, which are highly beneficial for future graduation or capstone projects.
10. Registration Guidelines
-
Form a group (maximum 3 students). Final-year students may only join if at least one junior member is included.
-
Develop an idea and consult with a supervising lecturer for feedback and approval.
-
Once the lecturer agrees to supervise and the topic is finalized, the group must download and complete the following files:
-
Research Idea Registration Form (BM01)
-
