Core 1 –Enterprise Approach: Laying the Foundation of Professional Conduct for First-Year Students
The Core 1 –Enterprise Approach course is a flagship activity of the Faculty, designed to enable students to engage with the corporate environment from their very first year at university. Through this course, students gain a comprehensive understanding of corporate culture, internal regulations, compliance mindset, and gradually develop professional learning and working habits. This initiative also serves as a critical foundation for promoting ethical values and the code of conduct upheld by students of Ton Duc Thang University.
In the first semester of the 2025–2026 academic year, more than 200 students from Standard, High-Quality, Full English-Taught, and International Joint Programs participated in a series of professional orientation activities. These sessions were delivered by distinguished experts in the fields of accounting and auditing, including:
• Mr. Chau Thanh Tai, Director of Education and Technology, DTRS; Head of Education – IT and Communications Committee, IIA Vietnam
• Mr. Nguyen Trong Khiem, Head of Business Advisory Department, KTC Auditing Company Limited (Russell Bedford)
A distinctive feature of these sessions was that students were not taught technical subject matter; instead, they were inspired to develop career aspirations and gain a holistic view of the accounting and auditing profession, corporate culture, and workplace regulations in real-world business environments.
The program continued with students being divided into seven groups for site visits to two major enterprises: Yakult Factory (Binh Duong) and Ajinomoto Factory (Dong Nai). Accompanied by Faculty members, students experienced practical, real-world industrial environments, observing production processes, safety standards, corporate social responsibility practices, and teamwork in industrial settings. These direct observations and interactions enabled students to gain deeper insights into corporate culture, professionalism, and workplace discipline.
This course is a vivid embodiment of the philosophy of “learning by doing,” establishing a solid foundation for professional courses in subsequent semesters while helping students shape their professional behavior, attitudes, and work ethic from their first year.
