Closing Ceremony of the undergraduate program evaluation by AUN-QA Standards

After four days of official evaluation, on the morning of January 29, 2021, the ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA), in collaboration with Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), concluded the 196th online evaluation session by AUN-QA for four undergraduate programs at TDTU, including the majors: English Language, Biotechnology, Applied Mathematics, and Accounting.

Attending the closing ceremony, from AUN-QA, were Dr. Choltis Dhirathiti, Executive Director of the ASEAN University Network (AUN), members of the AUN Council and Secretariat, along with eight AUN-QA assessors.

The AUN-QA assessors presented preliminary evaluation results of the four programs, highlighting the university's modern, synchronized facilities and the excellent English communication skills of students and alumni.

Some specific remarks included: (1) The training programs ensure the principle of "learner-centeredness," periodically updating changes and requirements from stakeholders; (2) The quality of the teaching staff is excellent, with a dynamic support team ready to assist students promptly and effectively; (3) Students are well-equipped with soft skills, international standard IT skills, and good English communication skills; (4) Teaching conditions are always well maintained, with diverse extracurricular activities, internships, and field trips at businesses, helping students to be confident and adaptable, integrating quickly with the business environment and culture immediately upon graduation; and (5) 100% of graduates secure jobs immediately and meet the requirements of businesses.

Additionally, the AUN-QA assessors pointed out several areas for improvement in the future to help the university and its programs enhance further, keeping up with integration trends and adapting to the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

On behalf of AUN-QA and the assessment team, Prof. Dr. Suzeini Binti Abd Halim, a member of the AUN-QA Council, expressed gratitude to the leadership, lecturers, staff, and students of the university, especially the four evaluated programs. The feedback and assessments from AUN-QA experts are hoped to contribute to helping the university and the programs implement better teaching and learning activities to bring higher value to learners.

In his closing speech, Dr. Tran Trong Dao, the university's representative, extended his thanks to the AUN-QA assessment experts, the AUN-QA Council, and the Secretariat for their efforts over the past period to conduct the remote evaluation of TDTU's four programs. The feedback and suggestions from the assessment team will serve as a basis for the university, faculties, and programs to accurately recognize strengths and existing issues, and to identify improvement actions to continuously enhance quality.
