TDTU collaborates with the University of Melbourne to promote international educational opportunities in economics

On October 30, 2024, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) welcomed a delegation from the University of Melbourne (UM), led by Mr. David Israel, Director of Global Education Strategy at UM. On TDTU’s side, the delegation was received by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Minh Ly, Vice Chairwoman of the University Council; Dr. Dinh Hoang Bach, Director of the Institute for Cooperation, Research, and International Training; and faculty leaders, including Dr. Le Thi My Hanh, Dean of the Faculty of Accounting.

During the meeting, both sides discussed expanding collaboration opportunities in Economics and Business fields to enhance international learning experiences for TDTU students. The Faculty of Accounting emphasized the following key initiatives:

  • Franchise Programs: The two universities aim to establish franchise programs in Economics and Business, providing TDTU students with access to international-standard education on their home campus.
  • Short-Term Student Exchange: TDTU students in Economics will have the opportunity to participate in short-term exchange programs involving cultural exchange, academic learning, and internships, facilitating TDTU’s engagement with UM’s leading educational environment.
  • Faculty and Expert Exchange: Both universities are exploring the potential for faculty and experts to exchange, facilitating teaching, research, and the organization of specialized workshops and seminars to broaden students’ knowledge.
  • Research and Conference Collaboration: TDTU and UM discussed co-organizing conferences, co-authoring research publications, and keynote speaking at Economics faculty events at TDTU.

As a prestigious global institution and TDTU partner since 2021, the University of Melbourne has successfully co-hosted with TDTU the Conference on New Research Results in Social Sciences and Humanities (2nd and 3rd sessions in 2021 and 2024). The Faculty of Accounting is optimistic that this partnership will create sustainable development opportunities for students and faculty through international programs and is committed to further expanding its network with global partners.
