Global Village 2020 – The Tet Holiday

Following the success of the first event in 2019, the Global Village 2020 organized remarkably by the Accounting Department was officially held on January 20th with the theme: "THE VIETNAMESE TẾT". Not to mention the enthusiastic participation of over 30 international students and volunteers from: Laos, Cambodia, Spain, Canada, Ghana, Nigeria, and South Korea.

This was also an opportunity for students of Accounting Department (TDTU) to introduce briefly to international friends about the beauty of traditional culture of the nation: Vietnamese Lunar New Year. All participants in the event immersed in the exciting New Year atmosphere through games designed to simulate Vietnamese New Year activities from the 28thto the end of the 3rd day according to lunar calendar, such as picking up beans, cooking Chung cake, displaying five-fruits tray, picking lucky envelopes at the beginning of the year, joining in writing couplets, ... came along with loads of interesting surprises.

Besides those mentioned activities, the new and unique features of Global Village 2020 also included traditional dishes. It was not difficult to catch the exciting eyes of international friends when enjoying dishes with distinct flavors of all three regions. The joy of the event was not too much, but was enough to spread the cozy, loving atmosphere of the Lunar New Year to all guests.

To conclude the event, the short play "Home for the Holidays" performed by students conveyed the message: "No matter whoever you are, what job you are doing, only when you are with your family then New Year becomes meaningful”. Let's have a look at some memorable moments of Global Village 2020:
