Students of the Faculty of Accounting Win Third Prize in the Ministry-Level Science and Technology Awards 2024

The year 2024 marks an important milestone in scientific research activities of the Faculty of Accounting, Ton Duc Thang University, as two student research groups excellently won the Third Prize in the Science and Technology Awards for Students in Higher Education Institutions, according to Decision No. 3647/QĐ-BGDĐT dated November 22, 2024, by the Ministry of Education and Training. This achievement reflects the continuous efforts of the students, the dedicated academic guidance of their supervisors, and affirms the Faculty’s strong research environment amid the ongoing reforms in higher education.

According to information from the Ministry of Education and Training, both awarded projects were directly supervised by Dr. Lê Thị Mỹ Hạnh.
The first project, “The Impact of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on the Financial Performance of Vietnamese Listed Companies: The Mediating Role of Intellectual Capital,” conducted by students Võ Thị Phương Thảo, Văn Thị Ngọc Trâm, and Deborah Agbaraoluwa Esho, analyzed the crucial role of intellectual capital in the relationship between CSR and financial performance. The project addresses a contemporary topic aligned with sustainable development trends and was highly appreciated for its applicability.

The second project, “The Impact of Board Characteristics on Intellectual Capital Efficiency: Evidence from Vietnamese Listed Manufacturing Firms,” carried out by students Trần Thị Kim Nhung, Nguyễn Thị Thu Ánh, and Trần Thị Ngọc Tươi, focuses on corporate governance—an important research direction in the digital economy. The study is academically rigorous, applies empirical research methods, and clarifies the role of the board of directors in enhancing intellectual capital efficiency in Vietnamese enterprises. Both projects won the Ministry-Level Third Prize, demonstrating student research capabilities and the Faculty’s commitment to high-quality scientific work.

In recognition of supervising two award-winning projects, Ton Duc Thang University presented certificates of merit and rewards to the student groups and their academic supervisor. This is a well-deserved acknowledgment of the lecturers’ dedication, academic expertise, and close mentorship throughout the students’ research journey.
