Scholarships Awarded to Students with Difficult Circumstances Who Strive in Study and Training

Tôn Đức Thắng University (TDTU), established on September 24, 1997, is a young university that has achieved remarkable accomplishments in education, scientific research, and extracurricular activities. The university has been highly rated by prestigious national and international university ranking organizations. These achievements are attributed to the leadership, attention, and support of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (the governing body), the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, the Party Committee of Universities and Colleges in Ho Chi Minh City, and especially the strong and proper leadership of the University’s Party Committee.

Currently, the Party Committee of Tôn Đức Thắng University consists of 18 subordinate Party cells. Among them, the Party Cell of the Economics – Social Sciences Division 1 oversees five faculties: Business Administration, Finance and Banking, Accounting, Law, and Labor & Trade Union Studies.
Comrade Phạm Thị Minh Lý – Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Inspection Commission of the Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the University Council, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration – serves as Secretary of the Party Cell.
Comrade Nguyễn Đình Hòa – Member of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Trade Union, Dean of the Faculty of Labor and Trade Union Studies – serves as Deputy Secretary.
Comrade Lê Bảo Thy – Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Banking – serves as a Party Committee Member.

The Party Cell of the Economics – Social Sciences Division 1 provides leadership and direction for its affiliated faculties in professional activities such as teaching, scientific research, student movements, and other operations. Particularly, in implementing the “Skillful Mass Mobilization” model under Plan No. 24-KH/ĐU dated June 3, 2024, issued by the University Party Committee to celebrate the 94th Anniversary of the Party’s Traditional Day of Mass Mobilization (October 15, 1930 – October 15, 2024), the Party Cell carried out the activity “Awarding Scholarships to Students with Difficult Circumstances Who Strive in Study and Training” across its five subordinate faculties.

As a result, 93 Party members and staff contributed a total amount of 40,000,000 VND, and 8 students were selected to receive these scholarships: Trần Hồng Quân (ID: 72300057), Lê Diễm Kiều (ID: 72300036) – Faculty of Business Administration; Lê Cao Việt Hà (ID: B2100430), Nguyễn Thị Thanh Hiền (ID: B2100437) – Faculty of Finance and Banking; Hoàng Ngọc Diễm Phúc (ID: E20H0274), Nguyễn Thị Mỹ Linh (ID: E20H0359) – Faculty of Law; Nguyễn Thị Mỹ Hoa (ID: 22200068) – Faculty of Accounting; Hồ Thị Ngọc Mỹ (ID: A2200016) – Faculty of Labor and Trade Union Studies.

On the occasion of the 2024–2025 academic year opening, the Party Cell, in coordination with the faculties, held a ceremony to award scholarships to these 8 selected students.

The Party Cell chose this scholarship model for students in difficult circumstances who strive in study and self-improvement to promote the Vietnamese spirit of solidarity and compassion — “the good leaves protect the worn-out ones.” The faculty and staff of Tôn Đức Thắng University always care for, accompany, and support students, especially those facing financial or personal hardships during their studies. It is hoped that this scholarship will help ease part of the students’ financial burden and encourage them to continue their efforts to achieve good results in both study and training. Students, especially those in difficult circumstances, should always believe that, beyond teaching, research, and other duties, the faculty and Party members of the Economics – Social Sciences Division 1 are always willing to accompany and support you, helping you overcome challenges in both study and life.

On the occasion of the new academic year 2024–2025, on behalf of the Party Cell, Comrade Phạm Thị Minh Lý extended her best wishes for health and success to all staff members, employees, and students of the affiliated faculties.
