Launch of the Comic Project “Accounting Career Path” – Accounting Squad: The Journey of Decoding Numbers
In an effort to modernize communication and bring accounting knowledge closer to young audiences, the Faculty of Accounting at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), together with the Vietnam Association of Certified Public Accountants (VACPA) and partners, will host the launch of the comic book “Accounting Career Path – Accounting Squad: The Journey of Decoding Numbers”. The event will take place on Saturday morning, September 20, 2025, at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street (No. 2 Nguyen Van Binh, Ben Thanh Ward, District 1).
For the first time, concepts often viewed as abstract—such as assets, equity, revenue, and expenses—are reimagined through lively illustrations and storytelling. The book follows Doanh Doanh and her friends in the “Accounting Squad” as they navigate the world of numbers, offering students a fresh, relatable, and inspiring perspective on the accounting profession.
From expertise to storytelling
The book consists of five chapters, each built around everyday scenarios that students can easily relate to. Interwoven throughout are sections such as “Did You Know?”, “Numbers Speak”, and “Characters”, which provide concise explanations of accounting concepts, enabling readers to enjoy the story while gaining useful knowledge.
The project has been highly praised by international accounting bodies. Mr. Lee White, CEO of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), described the comic as an innovative initiative that excites younger generations and supports the sustainable growth of the profession. Mr. Prafulla Chhajed, President of the Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA), emphasized its inspirational impact, calling it “a vivid introduction to a field essential for economic development.”
The pioneering role of TDTU’s Faculty of Accounting
The collaboration with VACPA demonstrates the pioneering role of TDTU’s Faculty of Accounting in reimagining academic communication. Beyond the classroom, the Faculty seeks to build bridges between specialized knowledge and student life. This initiative reflects its holistic educational philosophy—equipping students with professional expertise while also fostering passion for the profession and a sense of social responsibility.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi My Hanh, Dean of the Faculty of Accounting, affirmed that this comic project marks the start of many innovative initiatives designed to make knowledge more approachable and to nurture students’ aspirations to pursue accounting in the era of globalization and digital transformation.
The launch event – learning and reading cultural experiences
The book launch at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street will not only introduce the work to the public but also serve as a cultural and academic event for Accounting students. Participants will have the opportunity to:
- Attend the official press briefing announcing the project.
- Engage directly with the authors, illustrator, and guests.
- Explore the cultural space of Book Street, which preserves and promotes Ho Chi Minh City’s reading culture.
This will provide students with memorable real-life experiences alongside their academic learning.

Affirming value, shaping the future
The release of “Accounting Career Path” marks an important step in innovative knowledge dissemination and affirms the shared vision of VACPA and TDTU: to cultivate a generation of young accountants who are dynamic, creative, and globally minded. From its pages, students will find inspiration for their own professional journeys, helping shape the future of Vietnam’s accounting profession in the digital era.
The Faculty of Accounting hopes that each student not only attends the launch but also becomes an ambassador of the message: accounting is not dry or rigid, but a gateway to learning, contribution, and growth.
