ICAEW CFAB International Certificate – Attracting Accounting Students at TDTU
The ICAEW CFAB Certificate (ICAEW Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business) is integrated into the International Accounting and High-Quality Accounting bachelor programs at Tôn Đức Thắng University (TDTU). Recognized as one of the Top 10 international qualifications in finance, accounting, and business, the CFAB Certificate is issued by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and holds global recognition.
With its diverse and in-depth knowledge across various disciplines, the ICAEW CFAB qualification opens extensive career opportunities — not only in accounting and auditing firms but also in finance and banking. It helps learners identify a clear career path and enhance their professional competence in the accounting–auditing field, offering a strong advantage for those aiming to join prestigious financial and accounting organizations. Moreover, CFAB serves as a stepping stone toward achieving the distinguished ICAEW Chartered Accountant designation.
Thanks to its outstanding benefits, the CFAB Certificate has increasingly attracted many students from the Faculty of Accounting, TDTU. Below are some personal stories and experiences shared by TDTU students who have pursued this international certification.
Hi everyone,
I’m Lê Quốc Trình, a student of class ITAF 3 – High-Quality Program, Faculty of Accounting, TDTU. I’m delighted to have completed the final module of the CFAB qualification in May 2022.

The CFAB Certificate has opened many opportunities for my future. In April 2022, I was selected as a member of Team AnB, representing TDTU in the ICAEW Business Challenge, where our team proudly received the Best Presenter Award. Moreover, in May 2022, besides completing CFAB, I was thrilled to receive an offer letter from BDO Malaysia, my dream company and position. I truly value my time studying in the High-Quality Program at TDTU and pursuing CFAB — a challenge that has helped me grow tremendously.
My advice for students currently studying for the ICAEW CFAB Certificate:
Set a clear goal — whether it’s landing an internship at a Big 4 firm or simply passing each CFAB paper on the first attempt. Don’t let yourself lose direction. I understand that some subjects can be difficult, and receiving a fail mark can be discouraging. I’ve been there — I wasted time avoiding study and revision. But time doesn’t wait for anyone. Eventually, I had to ask myself: “Why did I choose CFAB? Do I still want to continue, or should I give up?”
The choice is yours — but whatever you decide, give your best effort and don’t waste your time. Find teammates who share your goals so you can keep each other motivated and optimistic. Wishing you all success on your CFAB journey.
Next, let’s hear from Bùi Thùy Linh, a student of ITAF 4 – High-Quality Program:

Hi everyone,
I’m a student of ITAF 4, and I have now completed the CFAB Certificate. I’d like to share my experience of achieving one of my personal goals during my time at TDTU.
My advice to those pursuing this qualification is: clearly understand your goals, and once you’ve decided to pursue CFAB, follow through to the end. Of course, the journey comes with challenges — there will be moments of disappointment when results don’t meet expectations. But remember, “High risk, high return.” Everything has its price. To achieve the CFAB qualification, you must be willing to sacrifice some social time and personal leisure. In return, the ICAEW CFAB Certificate will serve as a powerful foundation for a professional career, higher income, and a better future.
I wish all students pursuing or planning to pursue CFAB strength, perseverance, and confidence to reach their goals.
Finally, let’s hear from Lý Chí Hà, class ITAF 4 – High-Quality Program, Faculty of Accounting, TDTU:

Hi everyone,
I completed my CFAB Certificate on May 17, 2022, and I’d like to share my reflections on studying CFAB and how I felt after passing each subject. I passed all CFAB exams on the first attempt.
After completing the first two modules, I participated in the CA Contest organized by the Faculty of Accounting and was fortunate to receive an internship scholarship at an auditing firm. Later, after finishing three modules, I was selected to join Team AnB to represent TDTU in the ICAEW Business Challenge 2022, where our team proudly won the Best Presenter Award.
After the competition, I began preparing for the Assurance module, which focuses on both theory and practical auditing knowledge — skills I developed during my internship. CFAB students gain early exposure to IFRS, helping them adapt more easily to professional accounting and auditing environments. The CFAB qualification also stands out to employers, offering a significant competitive advantage over other candidates, though it does require considerable time and effort.
I wish all CFAB learners good health and confidence in your studies. Keep striving forward!
