Final Round of The CA Contest 2025: Knowledge, Courage, and Aspiration of Future Accountants

On the evening of June 26, 2025, the Final Round of The CA Contest 2025, themed “Green Future for Chartered Accountant”, was successfully held at Hall 6M, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU). This marks the 9th season of the annual academic competition organized by the Faculty of Accounting, with its scale expanded nationwide, attracting 561 students from 22 universities across Vietnam.

The competition serves as a prestigious academic platform that fosters critical thinking and inspires discussions on professional ethics, sustainability, ESG, and technological applications in accounting and auditing. Round 1 featured an online multiple-choice test of 50 questions on economics, finance, artificial intelligence, and sustainability. From over 560 contestants, 50 outstanding participants advanced to Round 2. In this stage, students were randomly grouped to deliver English presentations and debates on real-world business topics. The results of Round 2 selected 20 exceptional contestants from 7 universities to compete in the grand finale.

The Final Round of The CA Contest 2025 included three consecutive stages. Stage 1 featured team presentations, where groups shared perspectives and solutions on ESG, sustainability reporting, and AI applications in accounting and auditing. Stage 2 introduced an innovative format—role play—where teams took on the roles of board members to deliberate and resolve ethical and strategic dilemmas in digital transformation, ESG, greenwashing, and workforce challenges. Stage 3 tested individual contestants with situational questions, requiring them to present independent viewpoints before the judging panel.

Vũ Thị Bình Nguyên – Lecturer, Faculty of Accounting, TDTU

After nearly four hours of intense competition, the organizers officially announced the awards: First Prize: Vũ Anh Thư – Ton Duc Thang University, Second Prizes: Phụng Tiên (Foreign Trade University – Campus II) and Lê Hoàng Minh (Ho Chi Minh City Open University); Most Impressive Contestant: Nguyễn Thị Mỹ Vân – Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking. In addition, special prizes were presented: Most Favorite Video: Team Green Balance (408 likes, 59 comments); Most Favorite Team: Team EcoLeaders; Most Favorite Audience Award: for the most enthusiastic supporter group. Notably, all 20 finalists received scholarships from Smart Train, commemorative gifts from the organizers, and fast-track opportunities to KPMG’s interview round.
