Accounting Faculty Business Forum 2023–2024

On October 6, 2023, the Faculty of Accounting, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), successfully organized the Business Forum under the theme “Transfer Pricing – Trend and Practice” at Hall 10F, Tan Phong Campus. The event underscored the strong collaboration between academia and industry in training and developing high-quality human resources—one of the Faculty’s ongoing priorities.

The forum was honored to welcome distinguished guest speakers:

• Mr. Nguyễn Song Toàn, CEO of Parker Russell Vietnam, Senior Member of CPA Australia (CPAA);
• Mr. Trần Duy Hùng, Business Development Manager, CPA Australia South Vietnam;
• Mr. Đỗ Duy Quang, Senior Manager, Transfer Pricing Advisory, Parker Russell Vietnam.

Representing TDTU, the event was attended by Dr. Lê Thị Mỹ Hạnh, Dean of the Faculty of Accounting, Dr. Nguyễn Duy Sữu, Vice Dean, together with the Faculty’s lecturers, staff, and more than 400 accounting students.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Lê Thị Mỹ Hạnh emphasized the importance of partnerships between the university and businesses. She noted that the forum marked the beginning of a series of training activities on transfer pricing and related-party transactions. Outstanding students completing these courses would have the opportunity to participate in real projects with Parker Russell Vietnam alongside Faculty members. This initiative aims to strengthen the link between academic training and professional practice, thereby enhancing students’ practical skills and employability. Dr. Hạnh also extended her sincere gratitude to Parker Russell for their continuous collaboration and support.

During the session, Mr. Trần Duy Hùng shared valuable insights into “The Path to Becoming a CPAA Member”, introducing students to the requirements and benefits of the globally recognized CPA Australia qualification. He also highlighted the exemption and credit recognition opportunities available to TDTU students, making the CPAA pathway more accessible than ever.

Mr. Đỗ Duy Quang delivered an engaging presentation that offered students a fresh perspective on transfer pricing, combining both academic depth and practical relevance to future career prospects in this dynamic field.

The open discussion session between students and speakers was equally lively, with many thought-provoking questions about both technical topics and career development, all of which were addressed with clarity and inspiration by the experts.

Closing the event, Mr. Nguyễn Song Toàn praised TDTU students for their academic excellence and professional attitude. He proudly shared that several official employees at Parker Russell Vietnam are TDTU graduates who initially joined as interns and, through diligence and determination, were offered permanent positions after completing their internships.

The Accounting Faculty Business Forum 2023–2024 concluded successfully, marking not an end but a promising beginning for future collaborations between TDTU Faculty of Accounting, Parker Russell Vietnam, and CPA Australia.
