Student Scientific Research Conference of the Faculty of Accounting, Academic Year 2023-2024
The Student Scientific Research Conference for the Faculty of Accounting, Academic Year 2023-2024, was successfully held on October 30, 2023, in Room A403 at Ton Duc Thang University – Tan Phong Campus. The event drew significant interest and enthusiastic participation from students passionate about research in the fields of Accounting and Auditing.
At the conference, students had the valuable opportunity to listen to inspiring insights from faculty members. Associate Professor Nguyen Duy Suu, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Accounting, and Lecturer Phan Hoai Vu, Vice Head of the Accounting Department 1, shared invaluable guidance on scientific research orientation, common mistakes in research, and the essential qualities of a researcher: passion, diligence, curiosity, and persistence.
The event also featured a sharing session by student Van Thi Ngoc Tram, who won first prize in the university-level Student Scientific Research Competition for 2022-2023. Through her story, students gained a deep appreciation for her and her team’s unwavering efforts. Despite moments when continuing seemed impossible, encouragement and support from faculty members, combined with their determination, motivated them to persevere.
The discussion segment was particularly lively, with numerous questions directed at both faculty and the award-winning student research team.
In conclusion, Dr. Le Thi My Hanh, Dean of the Faculty of Accounting, enlivened the conference with a series of quick and engaging questions, underscoring the rewards of scientific research. She also emphasized the importance of resilience, stating that success requires commitment and effort—scientific research is not without its challenges, but a serious mindset is essential for achievement.
Summarizing the achievements in student research for the academic year 2022-2023, the Faculty of Accounting saw six research projects accepted at the Faculty level, all of which received university-level approval. Among these, five projects were awarded at the university level, including one first prize, one second prize, one third prize, and two consolation prizes. Notably, three projects are currently competing in the Eureka 2023 competition. This represents a tremendous effort from both faculty and students over the past academic year. Congratulations and sincere gratitude to all faculty and students for their relentless efforts. Let us all look forward to building on these accomplishments in the 2023-2024 academic year and achieving even greater success in student scientific research.
