Freshmen Parent Meeting (Intake 2020-2024)

On November 27th, 2020, the Faculty of Accounting organised a “Freshmen Parent Meeting” at room A101, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU). This was an excellent opportunity for the faculty’s academic staff to meet with parents of the latest batch of high-quality program students (intake 2020-2024). There was also attendance of representatives from relating departments: Ms. Dang Thi Kim Anh (Department of Student Affairs), Ms. Huynh Thi Nhan Hieu (Creative Language Centre), Mr. Nguyen Minh Hoang (Department of Undergraduate Studies), and honour guest from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW)-Ms. Le Bich Tran. The meeting was successfully organized with participation of more than 70 parents.

“Freshmen Parent Meeting” is an annual event held by the faculty with the aim of providing a better understanding of the BSc. in Accounting to the freshmen’s parents so that they can assist their children with the journey ahead at TDTU, as well as creating a foundation for the relationship between the university/faculty and its student’s family.

During the meeting, the participants were introduced with university’s modern facilities. The academic staff successfully delivered the distinctness in study curriculum and extracurricular activities designated for high quality program (ethical training, skills improvement courses, the military semester at Bao Loc campus and Nha Trang campus, English program, ICAEW CFAB, exchanging courses in UK, Singapore, Taiwan, and 4+1 program)

The Q&A session was also really exciting with many questions concerning professional certificate and future careers, studying English at TDTU. etc. The meeting concluded with vision sharing from the Dean of AAF for this new intake of accountancy students, as well as expressing her expectation on a tighter cooperation between student’s family and the university to achieve such vision.

At the end of the meeting, parents stayed to directly discuss with lecturers and representative of Departments and ICAEW; some of them visited INSPIRE Library at TDTU, Tan Phong campus.
