Teaching positions

TDTU Faculty of Accounting (AAF) is looking for applicants with a relevant MSc/PhD/DBA degree and professional qualifications/experience in accounting. Candidates are expected to have prior teaching experience in any area of accounting, including, but not limited to financial accounting, management accounting, auditing and taxation. In addition, research interests in corporate governance, corporate finance, financial reporting and disclosure, financial management, management accounting, social and environmental accounting, auditing and taxation with potential for collaboration with colleagues in the faculty are particularly preferred. The teaching positions are available to Vietnamese citizens or Overseas Vietnamese on a long-term basis (at least 12 months).

1. JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Teaching: lecturers are expected to teach at least 02 subjects for undergraduate and/or graduate courses. Minimum teaching duty in one academic year is as follows (01 standard period equals 45 minutes):

    • Lecturer with Master degree: 414 standard periods;
    • Lecturer with PhD degree/Assistant/Associate/Full Professor: 486 standard periods;
    • Teaching duty can be adjusted basing on mutual agreement of both parties. 
  • Researching and academic services:
    • Researching is encouraged. Faculty member is expected to provide support and participate in research activities at a certain appropriate extend. Candidate with a PhD degree or above is requested to register for research paper and publication. Research outcome and publications are entitled to additional income and/or deduction of teaching duty.
    • Services which are entitled to additional income and/or deduction of teaching duty in include: participation in managerial positions (i.e. Head of Department/Dean of Faculty, etc.), report and theses supervising, composing test papers, exam grading, exam invigilating, class advisor, etc. (to be discussed further on the interview meeting). 
    • Services which are not entitled to additional compensation include: curriculum and syllabus planning/designing/revising, slides and teaching materials preparation; internship arrangement, student employment support, recruitment of international students for the department/faculty; industrial connection to seek projects and fund; student affairs, international affairs, organizing or supporting conferences; searching for scholarships for lecturers and students, finding and introducing scholars and experts to work for the faculty/the University, etc.

Every year, lecturers are evaluated by students, faculty and the university boards as a basis for increasing income and renewal of contract. Lecturers are also evaluated based on his/her contribution and the effectiveness of performance outcome.

2. SALARIES AND BENEFITS
  • Monthly salary: competitive and negotiable. After one year, monthly salary can increase up to 20% depending on the individual performance evaluation and contributions to the University;
  • Other bonuses according to the University's policy (New Year, Lunar New Year, National Independent Day, etc.)
  • Social insurance, Health insurance, Unemployment insurance;
  • Fully-furnished working space;
  • Other benefits offered by the University depending on individual contribution and performance evaluation (on campus accommodation; airport pick-up and drop-off; round-trip airplane ticket once a year, etc.)

  • 01 copy of the academic degree (MSc./PhD/DBA) in related fields with full transcript.
  • Copies of professional certificates:  ACA, ACCA, CPA Australia, CPA Canada, CFA, CMA, CIA (if any);
  • 02 Recommendation letters from reputable referrers (professor/ former employer/professional colleague/peer researcher/scholar) with email addresses, postal addresses and phone numbers;
  • Records of prior research publications (optional)
  • Academic Promotion letter (optional);
  • Sample syllabus of previous teaching courses (optional).
4. APPOINTMENT OF PROFESSIONAL TITLES AT TDTU

For lecturer with current full-time position (consecutive 12 months or more): after the initial contract is fulfilled and renewed, the employee is eligible to register for professorial titles at TDTU (assistant professor/associate professor/full professor, or, assistant research professor/associate research professor/full research professor/distinguished professor).
